We just returned from Capitol Hill where we spoke to Senate staff about Asher's story. We let them all know that blood clots are happening to children. We told them "People think that blood clots don't happen to children but they do. Think of all the kids with cancer, heart disease and are hospitalized for other illnesses. They are the ones at risk for these blood clots."
After the Congressional briefing, I asked the National Blood Clot Alliance to add a brochure on blood clots in children and because of asking, there was a brochure (front and back) in the Senate briefing packet.
